What you\u2019ll do:

- Ship end-to-end features across the stack, balancing speed, scope, and user experience.
- Develop data ingestion and representation systems that can automatically extract structure and insight from multimodal, messy real-world scientific data (e.g., R&D databases, spreadsheets, images, technical documents, etc).
- Build both LLM-based agentic systems and implementations beyond LLMs.
- Act as a technical leader across the organization, mentoring top talent and helping define Altara\u2019s technical vision and engineering culture as we scale.

We\u2019re looking for someone that combines the technical skills to troubleshoot issues and build lightweight solutions for customers with the social stamina and patience to teach them how to use a brand new technology.
What you\u2019ll do:
- Learn how scientists currently work, including their tools, data, language, and constraints.
- Identify high-value workflows where Altara can make an immediate difference.
- Drive pilots toward measurable outcomes, such as improving yield or shortening an R&D process, creating clear customer wins and accelerating deal cycles.
- Configure the product, troubleshoot issues, and build lightweight solutions around and with our customers.
- Teach users how to incorporate Altara into their daily work and create new champions and power users.
- Bring recurring customer insights back to engineering and turn them into reusable product capabilities, helping shape our product and engineering roadmap.
We would love to meet you if you have:

- Architect and own complex customer-hosted cloud deployments that run scalably and reliably across diverse customer environments.
- Triage, debug, and resolve high-severity issues end-to-end, building bulletproof automated safeguards and observability to permanently prevent regressions.
- Design fully automated, repeatable deployment pipelines with deep observability to proactively surface edge cases before they hit production.
- Drive developer velocity and build internal tooling that empower the engineering team to ship fast without sacrificing reliability or security.
We would love to meet you if you have experience:
- Operating production Kubernetes and cloud infrastructure.
- Delivering on-prem or customer-hosted software
- Strong Linux, networking and infrastructure-as-code fundamentals
- Independently owning incidents and communicating with customers
